Breaking-up Is Hard To Do

Author: fab  //  Category: Love

Fab writes…

How do you deal with letting go of someone you loved so much? How do you learn to find yourself again and go on with your life as if nothing has gone horribly wrong? How do you face other people, pretending to be ok, when all you want to do is lock yourself in your room and cry all day?

When you’ve given everything you have in a relationship and it’s still not working, maybe it simply means that love is not enough to save what you have. It may be very, very hard to accept at first because you have invested a lot of yourself in it but the break-up may just turn out to be God’s way of throwing you a lifeline.

5 Things That Super Happy Couples Do Everyday

Author: fab  //  Category: Love

Fab writes…

happy and in love

I got this article from REDBOOK and found it very helpful in improving my relationship with Furious. These 5 things were gathered from happy couples across the U.S. to help all of us attain that state of relationship bliss that they have achieved.

Daily Habit #1: Talk to Each Other
Couples who are together all the time seem to lose the touch of relating to each other since, in time, they take each other for granted. It is important in relationships that both parties alot time to focus on each other every day so that they can connect on a deeper Read more…

50 Things Women Wish Men Knew

Author: fab  //  Category: Love, Miscellaneous

Fab writes…

So you’ve read about what men wish we knew, but how about what WE want them to know? Ironically, this was also from Men’s Health Magazine but thankfully, it was written by a woman. She calls it the Universal truths that all men should—but don’t—understand. :P Furious and I read through this as well and I can definitely agree with some of them (refer to those I’ve italicized). ;)

You\'re What I Want

1. Saying “I love you” immediately before, during, or following sex doesn’t count.

2. Real men drive stick shift.

3. I will leave if you lie.

4. You are cute in raglan-sleeved T-shirts (two-toned baseball undershirts).

5. I’m convinced I’m pregnant and obsess about it for a minimum of 24 to 48 hours before my period, even when I have no rational reason to think so.

6. I love it when you hug me from behind and whisper in my ear.

7. “Fine” is never an appropriate response when I ask you how I look.

8. Most of the time when I fantasize, it’s about you.

9. I’m terrified of becoming my mother, even though I admire her.

10. I get turned on simply seeing that I have an e-mail from you.

50 Things Men Wish Women Knew

Furious writes…

Here’s one for us guys.. Universal guy truths that all women should understand :D I had a lot of fun going through the list with Fab and I highlighted the ones which relates to us :D

Couple

1. Express yourself. It makes us proud, even if someone thinks you’re wrong.

2. You look hot in running shoes and shorts. And that top thingy with the stripes.

3. Bare, tan shoulders are underrated.

4. If you think I’m speeding now, you should see me drive when you’re not in the car.

5. If you’re truly interested in us, don’t play hard to get.

6. Shopping is a chore, not an activity.

7. When I screw up, go ahead and tell me–once.

8. No question need ever be asked through a closed bathroom door if I’m inside. I love you less with each syllable you utter.

9. I’m hot for you, not your sister or your friend or your coworker.

10. My guy friends. Not only are they not negotiable, they’re your best sign that I’m not a whack job.

You Picked Me, Right?

Author: fabandfurious  //  Category: Love

Fab writes…

sad sad chic

Just sharing my thoughts with you guys. I have a friend who thinks that her boyfriend is too attached to his family to the point where she feels like her boyfriend can’t make decisions about their relationship without having to think about how it will affect his family. Everything that they do should look right in the eyes of the guy’s family. She said that just thinking of it makes her feel suffocated and closed in.  I really feel sad for her. :(

While I was surfing the net, I came across this piece of advice given by a girl named “Jenny” to a person who was in almost the same situation as my friend. Read on…

“You know its sad that a man who thinks is all grown up and fit to have a relationship still feels that he needs his family to control him. I don’t think you are in a mature relationship because if you were both in a serious relationship he would know without even being told what he is supposed to do.   I think you need to move on, you would rather suffer a heart break or a break up now than get so attached as in end up marrying this guy and you remain sad forever. Believe me, once you leave him, you will definitely get someone who deserves you. I was once in such a relationship and when i left am much happier now and even married. So don’t gamble with your heart just get what it really needs. That is a good loving man.”

I don’t know whether to agree or not with Jenny. I’m not sure if this is the “right” advice to give to my friend. I don’t want to ruin a relationship that might be worth it after all. What do you guys think?

The ray ban sunglasses popularly worn by Travolta, gave way to maui jim sunglasses. Today however all wear chanel sunglasses or the aviator sunglasses.

8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt

Author: fabandfurious  //  Category: Fashion, Love, Technology

Fab writes…

8-bit what?!?! For those of us who are not so tech-savvy, hearing this shirt’s name might bring images of a life support system fitted into a cotton tee. But actually, this 8-bit Dynamic Life Shirt is not as geeky as it sounds.

I know Valentine’s is over and Christmas is not for another 6 months, but there’s no time like the present to give your special someone a one-of-a-kind gift that will surely be every other (geeky) couple’s envy.

8bit Dynamic Life Shirt

These 100% cotton shirts from ThinkGeek actually work like a life-indicator. You will start gaining lives as soon as your loved one gets within 2-meter proximity, and once you two are within hugging or kissing distance then you will gain six full lives. Go too far astray from the source of your affections and you’ll drop back down to two and a half hearts again. Cool huh?

How it works

Aside from being 100% cotton, the hearts are removable animated decal for easy washing, the battery pack is concealed in a small pocket inside the shirt, and it will run for hours using three AAA batteries (not included).

If me and my hunnie were to buy and wear these geeky but adorable shirts, our hearts would most likely drop to zero. I say this because for all of you who do not know, we are currently a thousand miles away from each other – in other words we are in a long distance relationship. *sniff* I know it’s sad but sooner or later (I’m praying that it will be sooner) our “hearts” will be six and full again.

For more info on these shirts, just follow this link.

The Secret Life of Husbands by Kristy Crawford

Author: fabandfurious  //  Category: Books, Love

Fab writes…

Meeting the man of her dreams and rushing into a whirlwind marriage was total bliss for Ruth Blackison. But the haze that new romance brings started clearing up when she faces the people that were part of her husband’s life before he even met her. It’s enough to drive Ruth up the wall when she meets and tries to get along with Ned’s crazy mom – what she didn’t expect was THE friends and Ned’s tangled relationship with them that threatened to tear them apart.

secret life of husbands book cover

Initially, I bought this book because the front cover is simply *fab*. After reading the synopsis though, I was more convinced than ever to buy it. As it turns out, “The Secret Life of Husbands” is now one of my all time favorites.

Reading this gem of a book was like riding an emotional rollercoaster. The characters were well drawn by the author so you will be able to truly relate to Ruth and the lot of them. I bet this will be a successful movie should one of the Hollywood outfits decide to translate this on to the big screen.

All the hopeless romantics (and even the not so hopeless) will appreciate the fact that this story doesn’t spin like a fairytale. The emotions are sincere; the difficulties of merging past loyalties and their new love were very real that you can almost imagine Ned’s mother looking like your own monster, I mean mother-in-law; and most of all, the essence of what Ned and Ruth had as a couple was a romance that all of us would hope for.

I highly recommend this book to women AND men of all ages. It is not your typical chic lit which leaves you hollow after reading the last page. This book will leave a mark in your heart as you join Ruth and Ned in their rocky yet poignant journey to their own happily ever after.
