The Apple iPad. The name is a killing word — more than a product — it’s a statement, an idea, and potentially a prime mover in the world of consumer electronics. The iPad is a tablet computer developed by Apple Inc. Announced on January 27, 2010, it is considered to be in a category between the smartphone and the laptop computer.

ShapeWriter Free is an amazing new iPhone application based on research that began in the late 1990’s at IBM. Its Almaden Research Center published the first rigorous mathematical optimization result of touch keyboard based on the Metropolis “random walk” algorithm — the same algorithm used by scientists to understand molecule structures.

Apple iPod Shuffle

Apple has just unveiled the brand new iPod Shuffle (3rd generation). The world’s smallest music player to date also happens to be the world’s first talking one.

The most noticeable change in this version of the Shuffle is that the controls have been moved to the earbud cord. This makes the Shuffle dramatically smaller and easier to control at the same time.

Google lets you search with your voice on your iPhone

Author: furious  //  Category: Gadgets, Technology

Furious writes…

Google announced that it will be pushing out an update for the Google application on the iPhone that lets users search with their voice rather than trying to use the on-screen keyboard. This voice search was likely made possible using the mounds of voice information they have been gathering with their 1-800-GOOG-411 service.

Google iPhone App

You can find the free Google application in the iPhone App Store. Once you’ve either installed this application for the first time, or had it updated, you are ready to start searching with your voice. Launch the application, put it to your ear, then speak your search query to give this feature a try. It’s unclear how accurately it will translate voices into the correct words, but it’s no secret that they have been working on this technology for a long time.

fring

fring is a VoIP application that lets you use Skype, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo!, and AIM clients to chat and instant message. Well, the good news is that fring is available now for free in the Apple App Store and can be loaded on your iPhone without any jailbreaking required.

fring will run on your iPhone or iPod Touch and works over the WiFi network. You can even make SkypeOut calls with fring so if you are traveling fring may be the application you want to make low cost and free calls on the road.

iTablet

iTablet

There are rumors that Apple might release a new product late this year in the US called the iTablet. Apple is going to leverage the more than 100 patents (like MultiTouch) that they’ve filed for iPhone in a larger screen device that borrows heavily from iPhone. Think of a larger, media playing, eBook reading iTablet with 3G, GPS, and Bluetooth. Now think of it in 6, 8 and 10-inch screen sizes. This is when things get interesting :D

It will run the full Mac OS X, have a slot loading SuperDrive, an “iPhone-type” GPS chip and an Intel Core Duo processor – presumably Intel’s Atom. An Apple tablet, preferably around 8-inch diagonal, 10-inch max, would be a Kindle-killer and the ultimate eBook reader. Its color display and slot-loading SuperDrive would also make the tablet a killer movie and music platform too. Mmm I think I’ll wait for this one :D

Wishing and Hoping

Fab writes…

Furious is away for the weekend and because I am soo bored, I came up with a list of stuff that I WANT (preferably gift wrapped with shiny paper and delivered to my doorstep right now! LOL!). Call this a vision board of sorts:

Sony Vaio CR Series in Blush Pink

Pink Sony Vaio

If you’ve come across my entry about my pink Sony Cybershot, you would know how much I adore the color – I’m a blogger and a pink-lover, so I guess there’s no need for me to elaborate why a pink laptop is on my wish list. :)

Trip to Santorini, Greece

Santorini, Greece

There’s something about this place that is luring me to go there. I know this might sound weird but I feel like I’ve lived there in my past life. Aside from that “feeling”, Santorini has always been a dream vacay destination for both me and Furious so this is definitely not only on my wish list, but his as well. I just love the uniqueness of the architecture and landscape of the place, don’t you?

LV bag – Monogram Vernis Alma MM in Violette

Louis Vuitton

It’s Louis Vuitton and I want it! *drool* *dreamy sigh*

If You Could See Me Now by Cecilia Ahern

book cover

This one I can afford (harharhar) but I haven’t had the time to go to the bookstore. You’ll know when I have already bought a copy because I will most probably review the book (but of course!). Cecilia Ahern is a very talented writer, you must have heard of her other book, Rosie Dunne (which I would have to review one of these days) and she’s also the author of the book-turned-movie P.S. I Love You (which I adored!).

iPod Touch

iPod Touch

I don’t want an iPhone, an iPod touch would suit me just fine. The touch-screen feature amazes me in a way that a hanging mobile fascinates a baby. I know I sound like I’m from the boondocks but it’s just so cool. ARGH!

Hot Pink Nissan 200sx

2001 Nissan 200sx

Unlike Furious, I am not really a petrol head so I don’t know what the top speed or whatever impressive specs this car has. But it’s pink, HOT pink at that and it’s flashy, so I want this car and it’s on my wish list. *toothy grin*

That’s what I came up with so far…so tell me F & F friends, what’s on YOUR wish list? :)
